Anna Kari was born in Aalborg, Denmark 7 April 1977. She has lived in Denmark, Lesotho, Brazil, Uganda and England; her parents live in Ethiopia. These experiences has amplified her interest in migration, refugees and identity. She studied photography at the Kent Institute of Art and Design. Recent projects include the collaboration with Guilhem Alandry on the development of document.ography, a website which centralises work from photojournalists, which they hope to present at VISA POUR L'IMAGE, in September, the photojournalist festival in Perpignan, France. She is currently working on a long term project exploring Roma, the ethnic gypsies, of the Balkans, which revolves around institutional spaces and how people personalise them.
