We Are (Refugee
T-shirts)
This project is about empathy: putting yourself in their shoes (or shirt).
Horacio has attempted to redifine the symbol of refugees, and breaks down
the notion of them as "other". Identities becomes blurred, anyone
can be vulnerable or in need of shelter. We are allrefugees..
Presente!
Horacio's final peice is a powerful narrative about his feelings and recolections
of chile, his father and the Pinoche extradition. Horacio's work attempts
to humanize refugees and flesh out the bones of the simple label using
the austeregraphic language of transit signage or travel documents. horacio_vhr@yahoo.com |
