Maya Kardum was born in Zagreb, Croatia and has been living in London for the last seven years. She is a photographer with a strong background in photojournalism. She began taking photographs during the war, not as a profession but as a way, somehow, of dealing with the hopeless situation that she and many other people were in. She has worked on the front lines with the RAI, the Italian State TV Network both as a photographer and news producer and has studied photography at The London College of Printing.

The following pictures explore the experiences of relocation. The images concentrate on two Bosnian refugees women and is accompanied by their own personal account which is fully downloadable in PDF format.
