John was born in 1970. After studying photography at the Kent Institute of Art and Design he undertook an M.A. in Teaching Visual Culture at Middlesex University. After founding PhotoInsight in April 1997 to help co-ordinate his photographic exhibition tour, first person | second generation, he then began looking at ways of bringing together other artists and writers working in the same area as him, which culminated in the development of this website.
