Judie was born in Bedford, England and now lives in Oxford. Her grandparents
and in laws were immigrants from Eastern Europe. She taught in Primary schools in Cambridgeshire and Oxfordshire for over 20 years, and then left to study Fine Art and Photography. She completed an HND in Photography in June 2003 and finishes her Fine Art Degree in June 2004. She has found herself exploring themes such as solitude, loneliness, alienation and communication between society and any individual who may perceive
himself/herself to be an outsider. As a result of this interest she has worked with a variety of groups in the community. Each association lasted several months and all have culminated in Photographic Exhibitions shown locally and this year in London at the AOP Gallery. Recently her art practice has led her to ask questions about identity, the problems of labeling and stereotyping and how this can be expressed through images. Her six month collaboration with a group of Albanians living in Oxford led to the work entitled Neither Here Nor There.
