Quy was born in saigon, 1976. Quy and his family abandoned vietnam a few years after the war as Othe boat people¹, he was 4 years old at the time. Since then him and his parents lived in various countries including Hong Kong and Northern Ireland. His family is now settling down in Birmingham, England.

At the age of 21 Quy moved to London, to study a masters degree in design at the Royal College of Art. His thesis was about the experience of going back to vietnam for the first time. He produced written and visual essay on the journey. The journey of finding vietnam, finding himself and finding his roots.

This work was exhibited in the Gulbenkein gallery in the Royal College of Art and at the Brixton Art gallery.
